We are all in this together, your lessons are just different than mine..

Life is a tide; float on it. Go down with it and go up with it, but be detached. Then it is not difficult - Prem Rawat

Have you ever had this feeling where you though that you are the only one having a hard time?

Didn’t this question strike your mind – Why do I have to deal with this situation? Why am I chosen out of the crowd and not others? Why me?

Didn’t we face this one time or another - where we look at all those who seem to have it all together and wonder if they ever struggled? It’s like everyone is sailing through life and you are stuck at in the middle of the stormy wave.

I am pretty sure we all did!

But, here is the thing, everyone has a different life, a different set of ups and downs, struggles they face every single day, opportunities that they are gifted with, and a whole set of life lessons that they learn to deal with by “living”. Remember, everyone has an untold story, hidden lines, and a battle that you know nothing about.

We are often too absorbed in our anguish to recognize what’s happening around us, to recognize that others too are facing their own hardships. When life is dumping on you, I know it feels like your pain will be eternal.

Life is a roller coaster ride, and you learn to live by living. This journey has a lot of pain, grief as well as happiness and well-being. We need to recognize that pain and grief is just one of those emotions that don’t get as much airtime as joy, so we assume no one else experiences it.

Now my personal advice from my own experiences is that during those hard times of suffering, what’s important is to get outside of ourselves. Everyone has their own way of doing it – it can be through sports, yoga, meditation, volunteering, etc.

But this is one of the best ways to jump out of this and get yourself back on your feet as quickly as possible. It will suddenly become clear that you are not the only one struggling.

The struggle you are facing now is not the first nor the last one, you need to find your way out of this. Never compare your life to others, remember that everyone including yourself has their own path, their challenges, and their own lessons to learn

Open your arms for everything life has to give you and enjoy the process. Stay grateful for gratitude is embracing happiness despite our suffering.

“Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward.” — Søren Kierkegaard.
